Four stations serving one mountain district
The map shows the official fire district outline, nearby road and SR 410 milepost landmarks, and a five-mile straight-line reference radius around each station. The circles are a geographic reference—not driving distance, response time, insurance eligibility, or a coverage guarantee.

WSRB protection class
What the rating means for your property
Washington Surveying and Rating Bureau (WSRB) Protection Classes describe the fire-protection resources available to a property. They help some insurers evaluate fire risk, but they are only one of several factors an insurer may use.
Current district classification
8A / 8WNile-Cliffdell Fire District 14 holds a WSRB 8A/8W classification—the strongest rating available to a community without a standard hydrant system. The classification reflects recognized fire-station response and the district’s mobile water-supply capability. Because WSRB assigns the final Protection Class to each structure, residents should still verify the official result for their exact property address.
01A 1–10 scale
Class 1 represents exemplary fire protection. Class 10 means the available protection does not meet WSRB’s minimum criteria for insurance-rating credit.
02Community resources
WSRB evaluates the fire department, water supply, emergency communications, and fire-safety controls to establish the community’s base class.
03Your location matters
The final property class can differ based on the recognized responding station, road distance to that station, and the water-supply credit available at the address.
04Rural water credit
Where standard hydrants are unavailable, WSRB may recognize fire-department-supplied water, including approved tender operations. The district is fully tender supported.
Find your property’s Protection Class
Ask your insurance agent to verify the class for the exact structure address, or contact WSRB Customer Service at 206-217-0101 or customerservice@wsrb.com. WSRB notes that Protection Classes do not follow ZIP-code boundaries. Its newer “W” designation recognizes qualifying properties 5–7 road miles from a Class A station when approved hydrant, mobile-water, or tender support is available.
District classification supplied by Nile-Cliffdell Fire & Rescue. Rural water supply
No hydrants. A district built to bring water.
Nile-Cliffdell is a rural fire district without a municipal fire-hydrant system. Water supply is established through drafting, high-volume pumping, and coordinated tender operations.
01Year-round drafting
Drafting points are established at accessible close points where the Naches River parallels WA-410. The river provides a year-round, open-flow water source, subject to safe operational access and scene conditions.
02Station water sources
Stations 10, 11, and 14 have high-volume pumps and year-round water sources. Station 12 is supplied through the district’s mobile water-delivery system.
03Fully tender supported
The district is fully tender supported, with dedicated tenders at Stations 10, 11, and 12. This places large-volume water-delivery resources at both ends and in the middle of the district. The tenders move water between fill sites and the fire scene, sustaining suppression operations where fixed hydrants are unavailable.
Property owners and insurers should verify current station, apparatus, and water-supply information with the district and obtain the current address-specific Protection Class from WSRB or their insurer. This page does not promise insurance coverage, premiums, response time, or a particular protection classification.
