Mountain roads, rural water supply, wildfire, winter weather, river corridors, and long mutual-aid distances demand a versatile fleet. Each unit supports a specific part of the mission while remaining ready to work as part of one district-wide response.
C-11Command / rapid response
Command 11—C.H.A.O.S., for “Chief Has Arrived On Scene”—is a mobile command and support vehicle. It gives the incident commander a dependable platform for establishing objectives, maintaining communications and accountability, tracking resources, and coordinating fire, medical, rescue, and wildland operations across the district.
C-311Command / wildfire suppression
Named “Gear Jammer,” C311 came to District 14 through a DNR inventory transfer—a fitting assignment for a department with an uncommon number of first responders comfortable behind a manual transmission. Equipped as both a mobile command post and a fully functioning Type 6 brush truck, it brings first-line defense and command support to any situation.
C-211Command / rapid response
Command 211, known as “The Lorax,” provides a mobile platform for incident command throughout the district. The vehicle supports the incident commander with communications, situational awareness, resource coordination, and a consistent command presence at fire, medical, rescue, and wildland incidents.
E-10First-due engine
Named “Sir Charms,” Engine 10 pays tribute to the Lucky 13s of Naches Fire Rescue, from whom the district acquired this engine.
T-10Water hauling
Tender 10 “Mack” provides dedicated water-supply support from the lower end of the district. Additional vehicle specifications will be added after district review.
B-10Wildfire suppression
Brush 10 supports wildland fire response from the lower end of the district. Additional vehicle specifications will be added after district review.
B-210Wildfire suppression
Brush 210—nicknamed “Uncle Sam”—is a four-wheel-drive military LMTV converted for wildland fire response. Its high ground clearance, three-person cab, and expandable water capacity give crews the mobility and water supply needed to operate on rough roads and remote fire lines.
R-10EMS
Known as “Woody,” Rescue 10 pays tribute to the City of Woodinville, where it previously served. This transport-capable ambulance delivers emergency medical support throughout the district.
E-11First-due engine
Named “Kamaikin” in tribute to the great Chief Kamaikin of the Yakama people. A sister engine to E10, it came to District 14 from Union Gap.
T-11Water hauling / fire suppression
Named “Aunt Mary” after the matriarch of the Matson fruit family, this tanker-pumper was refurbished and made response-ready through generous donations from the Matson family. Like her namesake, she is a dominant force on any fire scene—equally at home supporting structure fire operations or climbing Forest Service roads to deliver water to the fire line.
B-11Wildfire suppression
Nicknamed “Lightning McQueen,” Brush 11 supports wildland fire response from Station 11.
B-211Wildfire suppression
Lovingly known as “Steady Eddie,” Brush 211 is a proven performer. Its high ground clearance and water-carrying capability let a three-firefighter crew bring the fight directly to the fire line.
R-11EMS
Coming to District 14 from Fall City Fire & Rescue, this veteran ambulance is the proverbial barrel protecting people who go over the falls. With countless responses made and lives saved, “The Barrel” sees more action than any other apparatus in the fleet.
E-12First-due engine
Nicknamed “The G.O.A.T.”—the greatest of all time—E12 is a crew favorite: reliable, dependable, and ready for action.
B-12Wildfire suppression
Brush 12, nicknamed “Pig Pen” because it spends much of its life traveling dusty mountain roads, supports wildland fire response from the upper end of the district.
T-12Water delivery
Named “Mr. T,” Tender 12 provides dedicated water-supply support from the upper end of the district. Like the real Mr. T, it pities the fool who says it cannot climb that hill.
R-14Off-road and inclement-weather EMS
Hawkeye, named after the field doctor of the 4077, is based at Station 14 and supports the district’s technical-rescue mission across rugged and remote terrain. Just like Dr. Hawkeye Pierce, it delivers aid to the front lines. Rescue 14 was made possible through a Washington DNR grant and the unfailing support of the late Commissioner Kevin Jorgensen. It took the Fighting 410s almost one year to convert this military vehicle into a civilian off-road ambulance, with district members completing the work themselves.
Rescue Boat-14Swiftwater and flood rescue
Rescue Boat 14—QAR, short for “Queen Anne’s Revenge”—is named after Blackbeard’s famed ship. When not supporting swiftwater and flood-rescue operations throughout the district and county, it is the Pirate Vessel of Chinook Pass. The NRS whitewater rescue raft uses a center-frame configuration that gives trained rescuers a stable, maneuverable platform for reaching and transporting people in moving or flood water.
UTV-14Off-road rescue and remote fire suppression
Desmond, like World War II medic Desmond Doss of Hacksaw Ridge, extends fire and rescue capability beyond paved roads, supporting remote access and patient movement in difficult terrain. “Help me get one more.”
Rescue Trailer-14Technical rescue
Rescue Trailer 14, “The Box” (as in Toy Box), is a mobile technical-rescue equipment cache based at Station 14. It carries specialized equipment for rope and high-angle rescue, snow rescue, and water rescue, allowing crews to bring mission-specific tools directly to incidents across the district’s steep, remote, and river-adjacent terrain.
Apparatus assignments and availability may change as operational needs require. Detailed capacities and specifications will be published after district verification.
